The building that houses the Orquestra Sopros de Pindoretama has been designated by the Brazilian government as a point of culture (Ponto de Cultura). Only certain places in each town can have this designation and you have to apply to the Cultural Secretary of the government to receive it. Basically, it gives a special indication that, on this spot, in this town, this is a special place for the cultural enrichment in the community.
